Why sinks clog in Korea
Grease from cooking (samgyeopsal night, we see you) is liquid when hot and solid in the pipe. It coats the pipe wall, catches food scraps, and one day the water simply stops. Chemical drain cleaner rarely fixes this — the grease layer is too thick.
Two different fixes — we choose by diagnosis
- Augering (뚫기): opens a channel through the clog. Right for first-time, object-type clogs. Cheapest.
- Pipe descaling (스케일링): a rotating chain tool grinds the hardened grease off the pipe wall itself — like dental scaling. Right for clogs that keep coming back.
We show you the pipe interior on camera and recommend only what the pipe actually needs — we do not upsell big jobs on clean pipes.
Renters: we document the cause
If the blockage is in the building's shared line (not your usage), we give you photos and a written note you can pass to your landlord or building manager.
